The event is aimed at enhancing the area of Piazza Vetra, in view of an architectural intervention that will affect the Vetra Building, the former site of Milan’s civic tax collector’s office. This will be a redevelopment that will start from the building, with a desire to enhance the surrounding area. The event will therefore aim to develop a sense of belonging to the Piazza Vetra area for those who live in the neighborhood. It will be the first step toward building a new and distinctive identity for the place.
The Vetra Building is located at Via della Chiusa 2, overlooking Piazza della Vetra and, in addition to the magnificent view of the stunning Basilica of San Lorenzo, will give a new connotation to the use of the spaces, which will accommodate multipurpose activities. The property, which is part of AXA Investment Managers – Real Assets portfolio, will be upgraded entirely to Grade A and LEED Gold certified. The design was entrusted to The Prism. The project aims at the creation of a public space that integrates historical memory, essence of places with an innovative vision of the function and use of public spaces, marked increasingly by the principles of slow and multimodal urban mobility, the implementation of urban greenery for the benefit of citizens, residents or not.
